nellcollins.jpg Dr. Nell Collins is new to us this year. Dr. Collins is a cancer survivor that the Lord has used to offer hope to other cancer patients and their families. Shortly after her salvation at age 25, she began receiving some Bible training at a nearby Bible college. She believed that as a registered nurse, the Lord would have her serve Him on the foreign missionary field. However, after being given her first cancer diagnosis at the age of 29, she realized the Lord had other plans for her life. Eventually, He led her into full-time service and in 1974, she was commissioned by Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN, as a full time missionary. She is the founder and director of the Hope in Crisis ministry. Hope in Crisis not only provides help for those whose dreams have been shattered by cancer, but also gives training on how to evangelize and edify those in a crisis situation. Dr. Collins will be speaking in 3 main sessions and 1 mini-session to ministry wives.
Mina Oglesby has been with us for over half of our Ladies’ Spectaculars, so she’s no stranger to most of us. Within weeks of her April 1975 conversion, she surrendered her life completely to the Lord. At this time she did not know that within three years the Lord would give her the ability to compose gospel songs, and that within five years He would open doors for what would become a far-reaching ministry to women in local Baptist churches across the United States. Mina and her husband, Ed, have three adult children and three grandchildren. Mina will be speaking in 2 main sessions in addition to leading our group-singing and providing special music. minao.jpg
carolparks.jpg Carol Parks was last with us in 2001. She is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, wrote a regular column for the Joyful Woman magazine and was an editor of the magazine. She and her husband, Roger, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this summer. Carol is involved in the music and teaching ministries of the church where she and Roger have ministered for the past 17 years. Carol also has 30 private piano students. In order to relax, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, working with her house plants, container gardening, cooking, entertaining guests, taking mini-trips with Roger, decorating her home according to the seasons, and spending time with their 3 children and their friends. Carol will be speaking in 2 main sessions, 2 mini-sessions to teens, and 1 mini-session to ministry wives
Melissa Gullion is also a new speaker for us this year, though she is no stranger to those who have attended the past few Ladies’ Spectaculars. Melissa is an Elementary Education graduate of Appalachian Bible College and is our Asst. Pastor’s wife. Pastor Kevin & Melissa have been ministering here at Berean, primarily with the children and youth ministries, since 1997. They have been married for almost 9 yrs. and have four daughters, Katie, Molly, Emily, and Anne. As time allows, Melissa enjoys reading and gardening. Melissa will be speaking in one mini- session to our teens. melissa.jpg
